Harris & Harris is kicking off 2011 in a healthy way with a number of programs for its employees. First, the enormously popular Weight Watchers group is back to help interested staff develop and maintain healthy eating habits. Since it was first started in January 2010, the Harris & Harris Weight Watchers group has helped employees lose weight and keep it off. Weight Watchers meets during lunchtime, and provides a warm, supportive environment for employees to reach their weight loss goals.
For employees interested in building muscle mass, Harris & Harris offers a brand-new strength training class. Held just after work two days a week, the class is designed for beginners who want to tone and define their muscles, and weight-train in a group setting. Seasoned instructors offer techniques, encouragement, and ensure class participants avoid injury by using proper form.
Lastly, employees seeking physical and mental balance can take advantage of a 12-week beginner’s yoga class, which is also being held just after work two days a week. Each session will be devoted to basic yoga positions, and to learning breathing techniques that play a key role in stretching, flexibility, and relaxation.
Harris & Harris believes each of these classes serve an important role in keeping employees healthy, which is why half the cost of class fees for any interested staff member are underwritten by the firm. Furthermore, employees can pay their portion of the fee through biweekly payroll deductions, making it even easier for them to participate.
