We provide nationwide skip tracing as part of the overall collection process and as a stand-alone service. At Harris & Harris, skip tracing is performed by a dedicated team of research investigators and skip tracers. We ensure full compliance with Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, The Fair Credit Reporting Act and all applicable laws.

In addition to advanced investigative techniques, our automated system initiates a search to append each account placed with additional information—all within 24 hours of account approval and system update. This includes the following information (among others):

  • Correct residential address matching nine digit zip code
  • Updated telephone number(s), additional phone numbers
  • Work phone, business phone
  • Contact information for relatives
  • Other applicable contact or identity verification data

Data scrubs improve each file. Examples include:

  • Address validation and standardization
  • New address search via the National Change of Address (NCOA) database, the Fast Forward database and other proprietary sources
  • Bankruptcy and deceased scrubs
  • Comprehensive data scrubs through proprietary and public data warehouse
